Former President Donald Trump says his poll numbers have improved after the FBI’s raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida.
Trump made his comments during an interview on the Real America’s Voice network on Thursday.
He was asked if the raid was a “political hit job against the leader of our movement, who is in opposition” to President Joe Biden getting another term.
Trump replied: “Well, there’s no question about it. Nothing like this has ever happened.”
And he added: “I don’t even like saying it because, frankly, it sounds trivial by comparison, but my poll numbers have gone through the roof because of it. I’ve never been involved in an event that’s driven me up like this!”
Addressing the FBI’s seizing of documents and a photo showing some of them spread out on the floor, Trump said: “A lot of people think that when you walk into my office I have confidential documents, or whatever it might be — all declassified — spread out all over my floor like a slob. Like I’m sitting there reading these documents all day long or somebody else would be.
“It’s so dishonest when you look at it. And so people were concerned because they said: ‘Gee, that’s a strange thing.’ You look at the floor and see documents. They have coversheets of documents.
