Joe Biden And Democrat Leaders Have Sat Back As The Radical Left Riots And Works To Defund The Police, While President Trump Is Taking Action To Defend Americans And Their Property
PRESIDENT TRUMP IS THE LAW AND ORDER CANDIDATE FOR ALL AMERICANS AND HAS INCREASED FEDERAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP DEMOCRAT-RUN CITIES WHO HAVE BEEN OVERRUN BY VIOLENT CRIME AND RIOTS
Since violence has increased in Democrat-led cities, President Trump has taken the lead to assist cities and ensure no further violence.
In an effort to assist with the unrest in Kenosha, President Trump quickly deployed about 1,000 National Guardsmen and over 200 federal law enforcement personnel.
Mayor John Antaramian (D) said that having the National Guard has been “extremely helpful,” and feels that they can keep the “public safe.”
President Trump has continued to assist officials defended against the sudden surge in violent crime and launched a coordinated law enforcement effort called Operation Legend.
Operation Legend was first launched in Kansas City, MO, on July 8, 2020; the initiative is named after “4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed in his sleep early on June 29 in Kansas City, Missouri, part of a 40 percent increase in homicides there.”
Operation Legend has since expanded to address the uptick in violent crimes in Chicago, Albuquerque, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Memphis, and Indianapolis.
As of August 19, 2020, there have been more than 1,000 arrests, and about 217 defendants have been charged with a federal crime, and nearly 400 firearms have been seized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Since the launch of Operation Legend, District Attorneys and local law enforcement have praised the coordination, thanking President Trump for the desperately needed assistance.
Justin Herdman, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio: “In just a few short weeks, federal investigators working side-by-side with state and local law enforcement have begun to make significant progress towards reducing violence related to illegal firearms, drug trafficking and other crime in our neighborhoods.”
John Lausch Jr, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois: “Operation Legend has strengthened our efforts to apprehend and charge illegal gun offenders in Chicago.”
Tim Garrison, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri: “Operation Legend is working,”
Kansas City’s Police Chief, Richard Smith, said that Operation Legend is “making a difference,” and “we wouldn’t have solved the cases as timely as we had and we wouldn’t have suspects in custody without our federal partnerships.”
DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TO REJECT THE PRESIDENT’S CALL FOR LAW AND ORDER AND INSTEAD HAVE CALLED TO DEFUND THE POLICE
Since the uptick in violent riots in Portland, President Trump has continued to offer assistance while the city continues to experience unrest.
Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) has responded by continuing to reject federal assistance from the President even though his city has seen unrest for several months .
Instead of promoting safety and accepting federal assistance, Mayor Wheeler dismantled the Violence Reduction Team in response to left-leaning activist calls to “defund the police.”
Police Chief Chuck Lovell says the loss of team members has made it more difficult for the department, and “it’s been a drain in resources” as they saw almost four times as many shooting in the first weeks of July compared to the same time period last year.
Daryl Turner, the president of the Portland Police Association, said disbanding GVRT has led to the rise in shootings, and Mayor Wheeler’s experiment “has proven a failure with deadly consequences.”
Other Democrat-led cities have also decided to take up defunding measures, amid increase in crime resulting in police departments unable to protect their communities as they struggle with new budget constraints.
The Seattle City Council voted to strip about $3 million from the police department and reduce its size by up to 100 officers.
In June that officials attribute to the police-free “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” where four shootings, killed two people in just ten days.
Hours after the City Council voted to cut her pay and defund her department, Seattle’s first Black Police Chief, Carmen Best, announced her retirement, citing the cuts and refusal to denounce protesters who marched to her home.
New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio agreed to cut $1 billion from the NYPD, in part by canceling the scheduled hiring of 1,163 officers.
Meanwhile, New York’s Police Commissioner, Dermont F. Shea, said that the Department needs more resources to combat a rise in crime, as the city has seen gun violence soar in the past couple of months.
In Los Angeles, the Democrat-run city approved a $150 million in cuts to the LAPD’s budget for next year.
The city has seen 157 murders so far this year, a 14% increase compared to last year.
Robert Harris, Director of the LA Police Protective League, said, “Now is not the time to be cutting budgets because we’re going to see these crime rates increase,” and “we’re going to continue to see people lose their lives.”
JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS REFUSE TO DENOUNCE MOB-VIOLENCE AND INSTEAD SUPPORT MEASURES TO DEFUND THE POLICE AND PAY FOR VIOLENT OFFENDERS’ BAIL
Joe Biden called the left-wing mob violence that has broken out in Democrat-led cities “peaceful protesters.”
Although the majority of Americans have opposed defunding the police or reducing police budgets, Biden has called redirecting funds away from police departments .
81% of Black Americans agree and say they want police to maintain or increase their presence in their neighborhood.
Police, researchers, mayors, and community leaders said that the surge in violence had hit low-income and minority communities the hardest as protests and lockdowns destabilize institutions that keep cities safe.
Instead of calling for more assistance to support low-income and minority communities who have been hit the hardest by violence, Biden’s VP Pick, Kamala Harris, has supported campaigns to bail out violent offenders who have been charged with murder, violent felonies, and sex crimes.
Even though Harris served as Attorney General, police officers who worked in her state during her tenure have warned that she is not on the side of law and order.
Retired Police Lieutenant From Orange County, “During her time as California’s attorney general, she did not have respect of line officers,” and “she is not a law and order candidate, something desperately needed at the present time.”
